SALISBURY, NC - The Pfeiffer men's tennis team (2-0) posted an 8-1 victory over Catawba on Wednesday afternoon.

Pfeiffer swept doubles play to take the early 3-0 advantage. In first doubles, Oscar Van Koch and Axel Woerner took home an 8-6 victory, while Bjorn Barwinksi and Sebastian Wernecke won in second doubles, 8-2. The third doubles battle between David Weir and Jimmy Molina against Michael Patch and Iago Montero Nunez was hotly contest, but Weir and Molina eventually came away with the 9-8 victory.

Pfeiffer continued its dominance into singles play, winning five of the final six matchups. Van Koch and Woerner were pushed to three sets in the first and second spots respectively, but eventually prevailed. Barwinski, Wernecke and Molina all earned singles victories for the Falcons.

Pfeiffer returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 25 as they travel to Sumter, SC to compete in the ITA Regionals.
