Box Score 2 RICHMOND, VA- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball dropped a pair of matches on Sunday afternoon, Pfeiffer fell to Methodist 3-1 in the first match, and lost 3-0 to Virginia Union in the night cap. In the first match sophomore Kayla Hyatt notched an excellent performance recording a double-double with 10 kills and a match high 22 digs. Erin Errington also registered a double-double with 13 digs and 10 kills.
The Falcons dropped the first two sets, before winning a thrilling third set by a score of 26-24. The Monarchs answered by taking the fourth and final set 25-11.
Methodist was paced by Chyenne Pump, who recorded a match-high 13 kills and had 16 digs. Setter Maggie Harris notched a match-high 31 assists for the Monarchs.
Talor Hewitt recorded nine kills and nine digs. Tiana Gildernew registered 14 assists, with five digs, and Katie Wilson added 15 helpers to go along with five digs.
In the final match of the tournament, the Falcons fell to Virginia Union 3-0. Errington led the way for the Falcons with 10 kills, and six digs.
Virginia Union held an advantage in hitting percentage, hitting .329 compared to only .012 for Pfeiffer. The Panthers were paced by Taylor White who hit a blistering .727 and recorded eight kills. Esha Atkins had match-high 15 assists for Virginia Union.
Pfeiffer returns to action Wednesday, September 7, traveling to Greensboro for a 7:00 p.m. match.
