MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer (1-9) women's volleyball team struggled on Wednesday night as they fell to the Methodist Monarchs (7-7) three sets to none. As a team, the Falcons were out hit on the evening .324 to -.185.
The Monarchs took set one as they outhit the Falcons .350 to -.045. Ashley Beardsley led her team with four kills while Annabelle Ronelli was able to connect on three service aces. Methodist took set one 25-10.
Madison Kuehl, Lea Hilton and Erin Errington added kills for the Falcons to keep the score close in set two as it was their most competitive of the evening and were able to hang around and keep the score close at 12-10. After that start, the Monarchs were able to reel off six of seven points and then go on to win 25-15.
In set three, Pfeiffer couldn't muster much offense as the had just five points. Methodist hit .733 with no attack errors and 11 kills. The Monarchs added six more aces in set three as Lili Henry had three Ronelli added two more.
Senior Errington led Pfeiffer on the evening with five kills.
Falcons return to play this Sunday as they host a tri-match versus Ferrum and William Peace with the action starting at 12 noon.
