Wyatt Leads Falcons in 3-0 Sweep of Salem

Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 8, 2019) – Pfeiffer University freshman Reagan Wyatt led all players with 15 kills as the Falcon volleyball team swept visiting Salem College 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-19) in USA South play at Merner Gym on Tuesday evening.

Wyatt, from Stoneville, N.C., hit for a blistering .619 percentage on the night.  So far this season, Wyatt is tops among all players in USA South play in hitting percentage. Setter Angelina Fardella (Harrisburg, N.C.) led the way with a match-best 27 assists to go along with four aces and six digs.

Freshman Mattie Burris (Misenheimer, N.C.) and sophomore Alonna Clouse (Harrisburg, N.C.) also had great offensive performances, with Burris accounting for eight kills and Clouse going for seven.  Clouse also had three block assists.

Junior libero Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) had a match-best nine digs in the win.

Pfeiffer improves to 11-6 overall and 2-5 in league play while Salem drops to 9-7 and 5-2.  The 3-0 win marks the sixth win in straight sets this season for Pfeiffer.

Next up for the Falcons is a nonconference outing against Randolph College on Friday night Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Merner Gym.
