Falcons Split a Pair of USA South Volleyball Matches

Pfeiffer Volleyball Splits USA South Tri-Match

Fayetteville, N.C. (Oct. 16, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University volleyball team split a pair of USA South matches on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, N.C., falling to Averett and defeating host Methodist.

Pfeiffer def. Methodist, 3-2 (25-13, 25-18, 19-25, 20-25, 15-11)

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE – Pfeiffer vs. Averett
Falcon junior Madison Honeycutt (Arroyo Grande, Cal.) led the way with eight kills while freshman Anya Parker (Fort Mill, S.C.) had seven kills and a block assists against the Cougars.  Parker led Pfeiffer with a .583 hitting percentage, followed by junior Reagan Wyatt (Stoneville, N.C.) as she managed a .385 percentage while knocking down six kills.

Pfeiffer vs. Methodist
Pfeiffer rebounded form the loss to Averett, downing host Methodist 3-2 in the final match of the afternoon.

Against the Monarchs, six players finished with double-digit kills, with Honeycutt once again leading the way with 14.  Wyatt had 13 kills in the win followed by Morgan Shrader's (Matthews, N.C.) 12 kills.  Parker would have 11 kills while teammate Lauren Shepherd (West End, N.C.) would finish with 10.

As a team, Pfeiffer managed 11 aces on the match, with Shrader and Honeycutt each post three.  Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) added to her impressive career total with a pair of aces against the Monarchs.  Beacham would also lead the Falcons with 26 digs.

Pfeiffer will return to Merner Gym on Tuesday, Oct. 19 to host William Peace University in the annual Dig Pink match for breast cancer awareness.  First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
