Pfeiffer Volleyball Beats Mary Baldwin, Falls to Southern Virginia
Winston-Salem, N.C. (Oct. 9, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University volleyball team split a pair of USA South matches on Saturday afternoon, beating Mary Baldwin and falling to Southern Virginia in a quad match hosted by Salem College.

Morgan Shrader (Matthews, N.C.) had a team-high 11 kills in a 3-1 win over Mary Baldwin. As a team, Pfeiffer hit for a .263 percentage and forced 24 MBU errors in the match. Freshman
Kylie Mayberry (Harmony, N.C.) had 24 assists followed by 15 from junior
Kira Suttles (Morganton, N.C.).
Defensively,
Anya Parker (Fort Mill, S.C.) and
Mattie Burris (Misenheimer, N.C.) each had two solo blocks while
Lauren Shepherd (West End, N.C.) managed one.
Pfeiffer combined for 10 aces against the Squirrels, with
Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) delivering three.
Pfeiffer vs. Southern Virginia
SVU forced 18 Falcon errors and limited Pfeiffer to just a .119 hitting percentage in the straight-set win. Junior
Madison Honeycutt (Arroyo Grande, Cal.) had 10 kills in the win to lead Pfeiffer. Mayberry finished with 18 assists and Beacham finished with a team-best 14 digs in the loss.
