Greensboro Takes 85-67 Win Over Pfeiffer Women
Misenheimer, N.C. (Nov. 30, 2021) – Visiting Greensboro College used a big second quarter en route to an 86-67 USA South women's basketball win over Pfeiffer University in Merner Gym on Tuesday night.
Greensboro (7-0, 2-0 USA South) took a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and bolted to a 39-30 halftime lead.
The Pride held Pfeiffer scoreless through the first 3:33 of the third quarter in building the 45-30 lead.
The Falcons (3-3, 0-2 USA South) would battle back, closing the gap to 47-40 on a jump shot from freshman
Brittany Mills (Lillington, N.C.) at the 3:46 mark of the frame, but Greensboro would extend the lead to 56-42 after a Briana Milton basket at 1:19.
Pfeiffer would get a three pointer from
Alexis Bynum (Charlotte, N.C.) to open the fourth quarter scoring, pulling the Falcons to within seven points at 57-50.
Greensboro would then go on a 15-4 run to build a 72-54 lead. The Pride would lead by as many as 21 points (80-59) and would go on to take the 85-67 win.

Brina Bentley (Chester, Va.) and Bynum would each score 13 points in the loss while senior
Mya Johnson (Roxboro, N.C.) would chip in 11 points.
Greensboro posted four players in double-figures, with Lauren Livingston leading the way with 22 points. Quadijah Moore would have 18 points while Ta'Keria Legette and Briana Milton scored 17 and 12 points, respectively.
Pfeiffer will look to shake off the loss when they travel to Brevard on Thursday, Dec. 2 for a 7:00 p.m. nonconference matchup with the Tornados.
