Box Score Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Falls to Methodist in Home Opener, 3-1
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 23, 2021) – Visiting Methodist University scored less than four minutes into the match en route to a 3-1 win over Pfeiffer University in the season opening women's soccer match for the Falcons at Lefko Field on Tuesday evening.

Methodist outshot the Falcons in the first half (9-3) and held a 2-0 halftime lead after getting goals from Laura Harris (3:23) and Tatiana Lourenco-Shiber (30:44)>
Pfeiffer had a great chance to break into the scoring column midway through the second half when Cayci Eaton's shot hit the crossbar and bounced away. Methodist would make it 3-0 in the 69th minute when Aiden Sherry scored her second goal of the season to make it 3-0.
Pfeiffer's Kayla Blankenship (Asheboro, N.C.) got the Falcons on the board when she converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to avoid the shutout.
Falcon goalkeeper Haley Zoltoski made six saves on the night in her first appearance between the pipes. Methodist's Maggie Hunt earned the win and finished with five saves.
The match was the debut for Falcon head coach Katie Cobb.
