Box Score Manson Scores Twice to Give Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Their First Win of the Season
Staunton, Va. (March 9, 2021) – Senior Meredith Manson scored a goal in each half to help the Pfeiffer University women's soccer team to their first win of the spring 2021 season in a 2-0 win over Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Va. on Tuesday afternoon.

The Falcons dominated Mary Baldwin, outshooting the Squirrels 20-6 and 10-5 in shots on goal. Pfeiffer also held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Falcons got on the board in the 19th minute when Manson, a senior from Auburndale, Fla., scored an unassisted goal, her first of the season to go up 1-0.
She would later score in the 78th minute on a pass from Dayanna Riera (Bronx, N.Y.), pushing the lead to 2-0.
Haley Zoltoski (Raleigh, N.C.) earned the shutout win for the Falcons, making five saves on the afternoon. Mary Baldwin threatened close to the 35th minute, but Zoltoski made a tremendous save in a 1-on-1 opportunity to keep the Falcons ahead just before halftime.
Not only is the win the first for the Falcons this season, it marks the first collegiate win for Pfeiffer head coach Katie Cobb.
