Box Score 2 Falcon Baseball Sweeps Greensboro in USA South Twinbill
Greensboro, N.C. (April 17, 2021) – The Pfeiffer Falcons baseball team took a pair of USA South games over Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro.
The Basics
Game 1 – Pfeiffer def. Greensboro, 6-2
Game 2 – Pfeiffer def. Greensboro, 8-6 (13 innings)

Game 1
The visiting Falcons wasted no time, gaining the 1-0 lead following an RBI single from Bryce Marsh that scored Blake Winebarger. An Austin Morton two-RBI double in the third followed by another RBI single from Marsh pushed the Falcon lead to 4-0.
Greensboro cut the lead in half in their half of the third inning on a pair of RBI singles.
In the sixth, Kyler Fairchild hit a solo home run to left field while Morton had another RBI on a single to right field to provide the 6-2 final
John Owen earned the win for Pfeiffer on the mound, going 7.0 innings, striking out five Pride batters.
Game 2
Pfeiffer scored a pair of runs in the 13th inning to outlast The Pride 8-6 in earning the doubleheader sweep.
Tied at 6-6, Brady Parker laced a double down the left field line that brought in two runs, making it 8-6.
Greensboro would put runners in scoring position in their half of the 13th following a hit batsmen then a double from Hunter Curtis. Pfeiffer's Dakota Caughey got out of the jam by striking out the next two Greensboro batters to end the game and taking the win.
Caughey pitched five innings and allowed just one hit, striking out three.
