Box Score 2 Pfeiffer Softball Sweeps Bridgewater
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 18, 2021) – The Pfeiffer Falcons softball team swept a nonconference doubleheader from visiting Bridgewater College by scores of 7-1 and 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Jack Ingram Field.

How it Happened
Game 1 –Pfeifer jumped ahead by scoring six runs in the fourth inning. Taylor Parrish accounted for half of the runs, as she belted her second home run of the season, a three-run shot to left field. Paige Love then singled followed by a walk by Kyndell Warren and then an error that allowed Sarah Brown to reach, loading the bases.
Ashlynn Kennedy then delivered a bases-clearing double to left field, putting Pfeiffer up 6-0.
Pfeiffer made it 7-0 in the fifth inning when Addison York hit an RBI single that allowed Makenzie Pennell to score.
Bridgewater made it 7-1 in the sixth inning, but would get no closer as Pfeiffer ended the game after Sara Brown caught the Eagles trying to steal third in the seventh.
Kennedy improved to 4-1 on the season with the pitching win after throwing a complete game while scattering six hits and giving up just one run. She also struck out three Eagle batters in the win.
Game 2 – Game two was a low-scoring affair, with Pfeiffer winning 2-1. The Falcons got a run in the second inning after loading the bases when Warren drew a bases-loaded walk. Pfeiffer plated another run in the fourth on a Reece Davis RBI single, making it 2-0.
Bridgewater cut the lead to 2-1 in the sixth after drawing a bases-loaded walk, but would get no closer, as Pfeiffer erased the threat with an inning ending double play.
In the seventh, Pfeiffer retired the first two Bridgewater batters before giving up a double, putting the tying run on second, Pfeiffer was able to get a pop up to third base to end the game.
Caiti Mickles earned the pitching win in game two, going 5.1 innings while striking out three. Ashlyn Kennedy was credited with her second save of the season after throwing 1.2 innings while allowing just one hit.
