Box Score Pfeiffer Baseball Finishes Series Sweep Over Greensboro with 12-3 Win
Greensboro, N.C. (April 18, 2021) – The Pfeiffer Falcons baseball team finished the weekend series sweep of rival Greensboro College, winning 12-3 at Ted Leonard Park in Greensboro, N.C.

How it Happened
Pfeiffer jumped ahead early, getting an RBI single from Austin Morton in the first inning to make it 1-0. The Falcons then plated six runs in the second inning with Zach Ferrell getting an RBI single followed by a three-run ome run from Seth Grice. Morton followed that with a two-run shot of his own to boost the Pfeiffer lead to 7-0.
Greensboro cut the lead to 7-3 in the third inning after scoring on a sacrifice fly, followed by an RBI double from Adam Weber and a Scotty McGuire RBI single.
Pfeiffer scored three of their own in the sixth with a sacrifice fly from Bryce Marsh. Kyler Fairchild hit an RBI single and the final run came on a bases-loaded wild pitch that allowed Jake Brown to score from third, making it 10-3.
Pfeiffer got a run in the eighth on an RBI double from Jackson Leck and another in the ninth when Alec Bell reached ona fielder's choice that allowed Brown to score again.
In the ninth, Greensboro got a single to start the inning, but that runner was quickly erased as Pfeiffer turned a double play. Pfeiffer then walked a pair of batters before forcing a pop up to right field to end the game.
Nate Ray got the pitching win, improving to 2-1 on the year. He pitched 5.0 innings and struck out four batters. Grayson Huneycutt saw 3.0 innings of action and struck out four before Josh Topper came in to close the game, allowing just one hit in one inning of work.
