Box Score Records Fall in Men's Lacrosse Win Over William Peace
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 24, 2021) – A pair of records, a team record and an individual player record fell as the Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team defeated visiting William Peace University 24-11 in a torrential rain on Saturday afternoon at Lefko Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
William Peace went up 3-2 in the first quarter, but Pfeiffer reeled off 12 unanswered goals to take a commanding 14-3 lead and never looked back. Pfeiffer lead 18-5 at halftime and then jumped to the 23-6 lead at the end of the third quarter.
William Peace outscored Pfeiffer 5-1 in the fourth quarter to provide the 24-11 final.
The win, Pfeiffer's ninth-straight, sets the school record for consecutive wins and improves Pfeiffer to 10-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in USA South play.
Prior to the game, Pfeiffer honored the seniors and graduate students who were playing in their final regular season home game.
Inside the Box Score
John Allen (Lebanon, Ohio), playing in his final regular-season home game, set a new USA South single-game scoring record by notching nine goals, seven of which he scored in the first half. The previous record was eight goals, held by four players, including teammates Jared Nelson (Vestal, N.Y.) and Quinn Becraft (Huntersville, N.C.)
Becraft also had a great afternoon, scoring six times and dishing three assists while Nelson inched closer to the NCAA career assists and points records by dishing five assists.
Pfeiffer got three goals and three assists from Trevin King (Apex, N.C.), a goal from Brayden Sokolowski (North Point, Md.), and a pair of assists from Jacob Leone (Raleigh, N.C.). Corey Choberka (Vestal, N.Y.) also finished the game with a goal and three assists. Jaylin Jones (Hillsborough, N.C.) also tallied a goal in the second quarter.
Three Pfeiffer goalkeepers, Matt Stocks (Endwell, N.Y.), James Verdier, III (Charlotte, N.C.) and Tom Romanik (Winston-Salem, N.C.) recorded time between the pipes for the Falcons, with Stocks earning the win.
