Greensboro's OT Goal Spoils Homecoming For Pfeiffer Women's Soccer
Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2021) –  After battling to a scoreless tie through regulation, visiting Greensboro College scored five minutes into the first overtime period to claim a 1-0 USA South win over Pfeiffer on Homecoming Day in Misenheimer.

Despite outshooting the Pride, Pfeiffer fell in overtime when Greensboro's Natalie Habich slipped one inside the near post after being deflected, earning the golden goal win in Pfeiffer's first home match of the season.
The Falcons had several quality chances throughout the match, with senior
Dayanna Riera (Bronx, N.Y.) logging three shots on the afternoon.Â
Chloe Johnson (Fort Mill, S.C.) and
Julia Hayes (Waxhaw, N.C.) also had a shot each, as did graduate student
Cayci Eaton (Harrisburg, N.C.).
Senior
Jessica Vazquez nearly scored late in the first half when her chance from 10-yards out sailed over the crossbar. Fellow senior
Tracy Torrez (Orlando, Fla.) also had a chance late in the match that was handled with ease by Greensboro goalkeeper Lindsay Fox.
Pfeiffer goalkeeper
Britney Levy (Eustis, Fla.) made six saves on the afternoon, including a great diving stop to her right to keep the match scoreless in the 77
th minute.
All told, Pfeiffer outshot the Pride 15-10 on the afternoon with Greensboro holding a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Pfeiffer will look to rebound from the tough loss when they travel to Fayetteville, N.C. for a USA South matchup with Methodist. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
