Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Blanks Randolph, 9-0
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 20, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team blanked visiting Randolph College 9-0 in a nonconference match on Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer swept all three doubles matches and all six singles matched in the 9-0 win.
The match started with Pfeiffer sweeping all three doubles points, with
Megan Rekieta (Lubbock, Texas) and
Sydney Gray (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.) earning the 8-0 win.Â
Elithe Hudson (Albemarle, N.C.) and
Alison Sloop (Rockwell, N.C.) cruised to an 8-1 win in their match at No. 2 while
Darby Sherrill (Hiddenite, N.C.) and
Brittany Mills (Lillington, N.C.) also won by an 8-1 score.
In singles play, Rekieta squeezed out a three-set win, 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 at No. 1 over Val Santos. The rest of the Falcon matches concluded in straight sets, with Hudson blanking her opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.
Gray had little trouble at No. 2, winning 6-3, 6-0, while Sherrill captured the No. 3 match, 6-0, 6-2. Sloop won the No. 4 match by a 6-3, 6-0 score and Mills closed the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcon women will take to the road on Saturday, Feb. 26 for a pair of matches. Pfeiffer will travel to Greensboro for a match with ODAC foe Guilford College at 10:30 a.m. and will follow that with a trip to Elon, taking on the Division I Phoenix at 4:00 p.m.
