Women's Lacrosse Falls at Averett
Danville, Va. (April 11, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team dropped a USA South road game by a 17-8 sore at Averett University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Homestanding Averett scored the first three goals of the game before
Chloe Johnson netted the first Pfeiffer goal at 5:55 of the first to make it 3-1.
After another Averett goal,
Alexis Murriel scored to make it 4-2 at 2:37. The Cougars then closed the first quarter with a pair of goals and then opened the second quarter with a goal at 14:49 to go up 7-2.
Sophomore
Julia Barbato scored on a man-up opportunity at 12:49 to trim the lead to 7-3.
Down 8-3,
Analise Robinson got her 25
th score of the season at 4:07 followed by a Murriel Goal at 2:30 to climb to withing 8-5.
Averett then got a pair of Faith Bowlin goals to close the second quarter to take the 10-5 halftime lead.
Pfeiffer's Robinson opened the third quarter scoring at 13:19 but four straight goals from Averett boosted their lead to 14-6.Â
Tracy Torrez then scored an unassisted goal for Pfeiffer at 6:37 of the third quarter to make it 14-7. Torrez would score the final goal of the game with 48 seconds remaining to provide the 17-8 final.
Inside the Box Score
Three Falcons tallied a pair of goals each in Murriel, Torrez, and Robinson. Murriel also had a team-best eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Barbato and Johnson each had a goal with each also managing a pair of draw control wins.
Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper
Jordan Pendergraft made 15 saves for Pfeiffer.
