Piedmont Edges Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse, 12-10
Demorest, Ga. (April 12, 2022) – Piedmont University stormed back from an early deficit to edge Pfeiffer University in a USA South women's lacrosse game by a final of 12-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer stormed out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to a pair of goals from
Analise Robinson and
Alexis Murriel.Â
Robinson opened the scoring with a pair of unassisted goals at 13:12 and 8:31 while Murriel also tallied unassisted scores. Murriel's goals came at 8:17 and 8:04. Sophomore
Chloe Johnson scored at 5:48 of the quarter, also unassisted, to stake Pfeiffer to the 5-0 lead.
Piedmont would get their offense going as they scored six unanswered goals to begin the second quarter to take the 6-5 lead. Murriel would then bring the Falcons even at 6-6 with a goal at 3:44, followed by another Robinson goal at 3:31, giving Pfeiffer the 7-6 advantage, a lead they would take into the halftime break.
Robinson would score the first three goals of the third quarter to push Pfeiffer's lead to 10-6, but Piedmont would respond to close the gap to 10-9 by the end of the third quarter.
Piedmont would add three goals in the fourth quarter and held the Falcons scoreless in taking the 12-10 win.

Robinson led the way for the Falcons with six goals while Murriel added three.
Murriel also had a team-best four turnovers and also led Pfeiffer in ground balls (6) and draw controls (8).
Defensively, sophomore
Jordan Pendergraft made 10 saves for the Falcons.
