Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 21, 2023) --The Pfeiffer University volleyball team cruised to a three-set USA South victory (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) over the Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels on Saturday afternoon at Merner Gym.

The win moved the Falcons' record to 8-13 overall and 3-11 in USA South action while MBU drops to 2-21 overall and 0-13 in conference olay.

Senior Mattie Hinson finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Falcons offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .333. Defensively, Pfeiffer got eight digs from sophomore libero Gabby Edwards.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Falcons took control of the set-one lead at 2-1 and never trailed to win 25-16. Pfeiffer opened up its biggest lead, nine points, to finish off the set, collecting 17 kills in the set.

SET 2 | Pfeiffer carried momentum from a set-one win by securing a 25-20 victory in set number two. The Falcons earned the set victory powered by a strong performance on the attacking side. Pfeiffer put together a .318 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Falcons opened up a 21-15 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there.

SET 3 | Pfeiffer took set three to finish the match in a 3-0 sweep. The Falcons took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to secure a 25-22 victory. Pfeiffer opened up as much as a six point lead at 18-12 before finishing off the set, totaling 16 kills in the process.
