Falcons Drop 3-0 Match at William Peace

Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 31, 2023) --The Pfeiffer University volleyball team could not overcome a potent Pacers offense Tuesday on the road in a 3-0 (11-25, 14-25, 7-25)loss at William Peace.

The loss dropped Pfeiffer's record to 9-16 overall and 4-13 in USA South play.

Morgan Shrader finished with four kills on the day to lead the Falcons attack.Shrader also pitched in with five in the contest. got 6 digs from Shrader to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Falcons found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-11. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 14 points as William Peace grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up four times before the Pacers took control.

SET 2 | Pfeiffer lost set two 25-14, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 11 points as William Peace grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was knotted up two times before the Pacers took over the lead.

SET 3 | Pfeiffer was not able to win the third set and was swept by William Peace. The Falcons lost the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-7.

Next Match
The Falcons will close the regular season with a home match against N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 4.  First serve is scheduled for Noon in Merner Gym.  Prior to the match, Pfeiffer will honor the senior class, who is playing in their final home match.
