Pfeiffer Baseball Ends Season With USA South Tournament Setbacks
Rocky Mount, N.C. (May 6, 2023) –  The USA South Baseball three-team double-elimination tournaments are through the second day of play with action hosted by
N.C. Wesleyan University and Methodist University.Â
At N.C. Wesleyan, it was the Battling Bishops sweeping two games from fifth-seeded Pfeiffer and advances them into the best-of-three championship series next week.
N.C. Wesleyan took the first game by a 25-5 margin, in seven innings, while game two went N.C. Wesleyan's way, 8-5.
In game one, Pfeiffer got two RBI singles from
C.J. Acosta and
Alec Bell, both in the second inning.
In the fifth inning
Jackson Leck and
Jake Brown also had RBI singles, while Acosta got his second of the day.
In game two, freshman
Austin Wood and
Josh Turner each had a pair of RBI while Acosta managed one in the 8-5 setback.
Pfeiffer finishes their season at 18-20 overall while N.C. Wesleyan improves to 33-8 on the season.
