Winston-Salem, N.C. (Sept. 30, 2023) --The Pfeiffer volleyball team fell to the Salem Spirits in straight sets (15-25, 18-25, 20-25) on Saturday on the road in Winston-Salem, N.C..
The loss dropped Pfeiffer's record to 5-8 overall and 1-6 in USA South action.
Madison Tate finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Falcons attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .4. got 7 digs from Gabby Edwards to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-15. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 11 points as Salem (NC) never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Spirits took control.
SET 2 | Pfeiffer fell in the second set 25-18, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Falcons fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Salem (NC) finished off the sweep with a set-three victory. The Falcons came up short by the score of 25-20. Salem (NC) grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Spirits took over in the second half of the stanza.
