Brevard, N.C. (Oct. 24, 2024) --The Pfeiffer University volleyball team fell to the Brevard Tornados 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 24-26) on Wednesday evening on the road at Boshamer Gymnasium.
The loss dropped Pfeiffer's record to 4-18 overall and 1-11 in USA South play while Brevard improves to 13-8 overall and 5-6 in USA South matches.
Junior Madison Tate finished with 12 kills on the night to lead the Falcons attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .455. Defensively, the Falcons had three players reach double figures in digs, including Gabby Edwards' 15, 12 from Karmen Rion, and 11 more from sophomore Gabi Gama.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons found themselves in an early hole, losing the first set 25-21. Brevard grabbed the advantage for good at 16-15 in a set that was knotted up five times before the Tornados took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Pfeiffer fell in set two 25-20, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. The Falcons fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Pfeiffer could not win the third set and was swept by Brevard. The Falcons dropped a tight set, losing 26-24 in a stanza that was tied 11 times and had four lead changes.
Next Match
The Falcons will return to Misenheimer for a tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Falcons will take on Mary Baldwin in a USA South match at Noon and will battle Guilford in a nonconference match at approximately 4:00 p.m.
