Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 30, 2024) -- The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team fell 2-1 at home to Brevard in the season finale on Wednesday evening at Lefko-Mills Field.
Pfeiffer jumped on top 1-0 when sophomore Khamani Spencer scored her seventh goal of the season in the 66th minute, assisted by Emma LaFave. LaFave sent a corner kick into the box where Spencer headed the ball to the short corner, past the Brevard goalkeeper.
The Tornados would even the match on a goal from Kinlee Mozley in the 79th minute. Mozley's shot was deflected by Pfeiffer goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis, but the ball bounced into the net at the near post.
Brevard would score again, this time on Brennan Howell's 81st-minute goal, assisted by Kennedy Kelly to provide the eventual winner at 2-1.
Pfeiffer goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis piled up seven saves for the Falcons while facing 23 total Brevard shots.
With the season complete, Pfeiffer finishes with an overall record of 3-12 and 1-8 in USA South matches while Brevard caps the regualr season with an unblemished 14-0-2 record and a perfect 8-0-1 in USA South play.
