Greenville, S.C. (Oct. 31, 2024) -- The Pfeiffer University volleyball team fell to Bob Jones University in a Halloween road match by a 3-1 (22-25, 16-25, 27-25, 18-25) score in Greenville, S.C..
The non-conference loss moved Pfeiffer to 5-21 on the season.
Junior Madison Tate finished with 12 kills on the match to lead the Falcons attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .320. Defensively, Pfeiffer had two players reach double figures in digs as Gabby Edwards had 17 and Gabi Gama had 12.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons fell in a back-and-forth first set, losing 25-22 in a game that featured one lead change and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than four points in the match.
SET 2 | Pfeiffer lost set two 25-16, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Falcons fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Pfeiffer avoided a sweep with a win in set three to make it a 2-1 match. The Falcons came out on top of a tight battle, winning 27-25 in a set that was tied two times and had no lead changes. Pfeiffer's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Pfeiffer couldn't keep the rally going and lost in set four 25-18 to drop the match. The Falcons dropped the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before falling in the set.

The Falcons will travel to Southern Virginia for a USA South tri-match on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Falcons will play the host Knights at noon followed by a 2:00 p.m. match against Meredith College.
