Southern Virginia def. Pfeiffer, 7-1
BUENA VISTA, Va. --The Pfeiffer Falcons had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the Southern Virginia Knights 7-1 despite the efforts of Zach Ferrell, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and an RBI.
Thad Lewis (1-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Pfeiffer (9-10, 2-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons were trailing 5-0 in the eighth inning when they first put runs on the board. Ferrell put Pfeiffer on the board with a two-out solo home run off C. Smith. The Falcons were unable to get any closer, as Southern Virginia added two runs to their tally on the way to a 7-1 final.

Southern Virginia def. Pfeiffer, 21-14
In game two, the Falcons received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Falcons fell to SVUÂ Â 21-14 on Saturday.
Nate Callahan (2-2) came out of the bullpen for Pfeiffer (9-11, 2-6) and took the loss on the mound.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons lost despite scoring in six different innings in the ballgame, last holding the lead in the sixth inning at 13-12. Pfeiffer's biggest output came in its five-run first inning. The big hits for the Falcons in the inning were a three-run home run off the bat of Josh Turner and a two-run single from Cory Lackey.
