Tardiff's Late Goal Sends Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse to 16-15 Road Win at Southern Virginia
Buena Vista, Va. (April 13, 2024) – Mason Tardiff scored the winning goal with 2:20 remaining to send Pfeiffer University to a 16-15 USA South road win at Southern Virginia University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Tied at 3-3 at the end of the first, Pfeiffer exploded in the second quarter, scoring nine goals while taking a 12-6 lead into halftime.
Pfeiffer would go up 15-8 at 8:38 of the third quarter on a score from
Zach DeFazio, but SVU's offense came alive, as they scored seven unanswered goals to tie the game at 15-15, capped by a Porter Wells goal at the five-minute mark of the fourth.
The Knights were then saddled with an unnecessary roughness penalty at 2:32, putting the Falcons on the man-up advantage. Tardiff would then bury the eventual game-winner at 2:20 on an assist from
Trent Orr, providing the 16-15 final.
Pfeiffer then was called for a holding penalty with 1:24 left, putting SVU on the man-advantage, but a forced turnover and ground ball pickup from
Tobias Ballester sealed the deal, as SVU was then called for two more penalties with 32 seconds remaining.
The Knights never regained possession, with Pfeiffer taking the 16-15 win, their first win at SVU in five tries, dating back to 2019.

Zach DeFazio led the way with four goals while Tardiff had three scores and one assist.Â
