Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Clinch Top Seed in USA South Tournament After Lopsided Win at Methodist
Fayetteville, N.C. (April 24, 2024) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team came away with a lopsided 17-3 USA South win at Methodist to clinch the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the upcoming USA South Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and added four more goals to take an 11-0 lead into halftime.
Pfeiffer scored the first goal of the third quarter to extend the lead to 12-0. Methodist would get on the board at the 7:12 mark for the first time, making in 12-1.
Pfeiffer then added five more goals, all from
Zach DeFazio to push the lead to 17-1. Methodist then added two goals in the late stages of the fourth quarter to provide the 17-3 final.

Zach DeFazio scored seven goals to lead the Falcons, while also adding one assist.Â
Zach Gignac would add four goals and an assist while
Khyler Johnson managed three goals.Â
Quinn Becraft had a goal and two assists while Malcolm Meadows and
Matt Scriven each had one goal to round out the Falcon scoring.

Oliver Buch and
Jason Rowland both got time in net for the Falcons, with Buch making nine saves and Rowland coming away with one stop.

The Falcons will return to Lefko-Mills Field on Saturday, April 27 for a 3:00 p.m. regular-season finale clash with rival Greensboro. Face off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and is the second game in a doubleheader with the Falcon women's lacrosse program.
