Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Falls in Second Round of NCAA Tournament at Lynchburg
Lynchburg, Va. (May 11, 2024) – The University of Lynchburg outscored Pfeiffer 10-2 in the first quarter and went on to a 24-8 win over the Falcons in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Shellenberger Field in Lynchburg, Va.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The host Hornets struck first, taking a 1-0 lead on a 13:34 goal from Luke Meadows. Pfeiffer responded when senior
Quinn Becraft scored at 12:38 to tie the game at 1-1.
Lynchburg would then score the next five goals to stretch their lead to 6-1. Becraft would score his second of the game at 5:48 of the first quarter. Lynchburg would add four more goals to end the first quarter with the 10-2 lead.
The Hornets would then notch the first goal of the second quarter to lead 11-2. Pfeiffer's
Ethan Miles added a goal at 10:57 to draw to 11-3.
Lynchburg would hold Pfeiffer scoreless the rest of the half and added five more goals to lead 16-3 at halftime.

Chase Benton and
Jared Butler opened the third quarter with a goal each to make it 16-5. Another five goal outburst from Lynchburg boosted their lead to 21-5 before freshman
Trent Orr scored at the 3:53 mark of the third on an assist from
Zach Gignac to make the score 21-6.
Trailing 23-6 entering the fourth quarter, Pfeiffer's
Evan Jenkins and Gignac each scored in the quarter to provide the 24-8 final.
