Pfeiffer Draws at Piedmont 3-3

Demorest, Ga. (Sept. 21, 2024) -- The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team got a pair of goals from Alex Michael in a 3-3 tie against Piedmont University on Saturday afternoonon the road at the Walker Athletic Complex.

The draw moved Pfeiffer's record to 2-1-2 overall.

How it Happened

Piedmont started the scoring when Davis Knight scored in the 14th minute.

The Falcons responded to tie the game on a goal from Michael -- his fourth of the season -- in the 18th minute with an assist from Asuncion Gonzalez.

Piedmont went up 2-1 on Jason Aussin's 56th-minute goal.

The Lions would then extend their lead to  3-1 with a 62nd-minute goal from Mason Keith, assisted by Aussin.

Pfeiffer closed the gap on Piedmont to make it a 3-2 game on Diego Medel's second goal of the season in the 65th minute, assisted by Gonzalez.

The Falcons leveled the game at 3-3 thanks to a 66th-minute goal from Michael, his fifth goal of the season on an assist from Andry Rosales..

Game Notes

  • Goalkeeper Tommaso Cantini recorded one save for the Falcons out of 11 total Lions shots.
  • Pfeiffer had 13 shots on goal.

Up Next
The Falcons will return to the turf at Lefko-Mills Field on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 p.m. with a match against Division II Virginia State.
