MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- Pfeiffer fell 3-2 at home to Averett Tuesday (Sept. 3) at Lefko-Mills Field.
Pfeiffer dropped to 0-1-0 on the season following the defeat.
How it Happened
Pfeiffer broke the 0-0 tie when Wesley Hooker scored his first goal of the season in the eighth minute, assisted by graduate student Caleb Livengood..
The Cougars responded to tie things up on a goal from Max Gaudry in the ninth minute, assisted by Daniel Lilley.
Pfeiffer went on top 2-1 on Benji Landaverde's 14th-minute goal, his first of the season. Andry Rosales assisted the goal.
The Cougars fired back to tie it up at 2-2 with a 40th-minute goal from Jonthomas Buckley.
Averett broke the tie and took a 3-2 lead on Leandre Tyssandier's goal in the 65th minute. The goal closed the 3-2 match.
