MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Jan. 29, 2025) --The Pfeiffer offense put on a ball-movement clinic at home Wednesday, recording 12 assists on 19 made shots, but the Falcons fell to the Methodist Monarchs 63-51 in Merner Gym on Wednesday night.
Senior Alexis Bynum led the Falcons (6-10, 4-6) with 12 points and two steals while sophomore Peyton McPeters added six points to go along with Mara Ochoa-Contreras eight points and three steals.
Pfeiffer forced 16 Methodist turnovers while committing 14 themselves in Wednesday's game. The Falcons turned those takeaways into 13 points on the other end of the floor. Ochoa-Contreras' three steals led the way for Pfeiffer.
How It Happened
After falling behind 8-4, Pfeiffer went on a 6-0 run with 3:27 left in the first quarter, culminating in a three from Kenadie Hudler, to take a 10-8 lead. The Falcons then surrendered that lead and entered the second quarter down 14-12.
The Falcons fought back in the second period, narrowing the deficit to 30-29 by the time halftime rolled around.
Pfeiffer's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Falcons faced a 47-40 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Pfeiffer played well near the basket, scoring eight of its 11 points in the paint.
