Pfeiffer Women's Basketball Uses Big Fourth Quarter to Roll Past Regent
MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Nov. 15, 2025) — Pfeiffer University erupted for 30 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from Regent University, earning an 80-43 nonconference women's basketball victory on Saturday afternoon at Merner Gym.
The Falcons (2-1) led 33-31 at halftime but dominated the final period, holding the Royals (0-4) to just two points over the last 10 minutes. Pfeiffer forced 42 turnovers and converted them into 46 points, fueling a fast-paced attack that produced 30 fast-break points and 50 points in the paint.
Ava Hairston paced Pfeiffer with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while
Miya Horton filled the stat sheet with nine points, eight assists, nine steals and seven rebounds.
Lettie Michael added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and
Nyree Bell chipped in 10 points and seven boards.
The Falcons shot 43.6% from the field and recorded 27 steals, turning defense into offense throughout the game. Pfeiffer's bench contributed 26 points, and the team outrebounded Regent 39-32.
Amara Groth and Kennedy Shipman led Regent with 15 points apiece, combining for four of the Royals' five 3-pointers.
Pfeiffer will return to play on Wesdnesday, Nov. 19 with a road nonconference game at former USA South and current ODAC foe Averett University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
