Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Wins 7-0 Over Johnson & Wales

Misenheimer, N.C. (March 27, 2025)– The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team took a 7-0 win over Johnson and Wales on Thursday afternoon.

The match was completed after rain forced the stoppage of play back on Feb. 27 at West Charlotte High School.

THE BASICS
On Feb. 27, Pfeiffer won the doubles point, by sweeping all three matches.

The remaining six singles matches were completed at Pfeiffer on Thursday, March 27, with the Falcons winning all six in straight sets.  Mathius Dessureau clinched the team win for the Falcons by taking his match at No. 2 over JWU's Justin Wagner by a 6-4, 6-0 score.

Grad student Benedikt Pfeiffer rolled over his JWU opponent in the No. 1 match, winning 6-1, 6-1 while freshman Aissultan Mukhambetov won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.  Andres Valdez-Arze also won 6-2, 6-0 while Justin Giesbrecht won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5 and Laurin Rauer took the No. 6 match by a 6-2, 6-2 score.

The Next Match
The Falcons will return to USA South play by traveling to Methodist on Friday, March 28 for a match at Noon.
