Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Rolls Over William Peace in First Round of USA South Tournament

Misenheimer, N.C. (April 22, 2025)– The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team took a 4-0 win over William Peace University in the first round of the USA South Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
The third-seeded Falcons earned the doubles point, taking a 1-0 lead after securing a pair of 6-0 wins at the No. 2 and No 3 match.

In singles play, Jayden Wellman polished off his WPU opponent in the No. 2 match by a 6-0 score to lift Pfeiffer to the 2-0 lead.

Graduate student Benedikt Pfeiffer then took his No. 1 match, also by a 6-0, 6-0 score to push the Falcons to a 3-0 advantage.  Freshman Aissultan Mukhambetov closed the team win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 match, with Pfeiffer winning 4-0.

The Next Match
The Falcons will advance to the USA South Tournament semifinals on Friday, April 26 and will take on No. 2 Methodist at 10:00 a.m. at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center on the campus of N.C. Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount, N.C.
