Box Score Averett Downs Pfeiffer Women's Soccer in Season Opener

MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Aug. 29, 2025) — Averett's Isobel Evans scored once and assisted another as Averett opened the season with a 2-0 road victory over Pfeiffer on Friday evening at Lefko-Mills Field.

Evans put Averett (1-0) on the board early, netting a goal in the third minute off a rebound from Gabriella Alvarado's saved shot. She later set up Gianna Minafo's insurance goal in the 49th minute, sealing the Cougars' win.

Goalkeeper Krista Hinebaugh recorded eight saves to earn the shutout, including five in the second half, as Pfeiffer (0-1) outshot Averett 17-11 but failed to convert. The Falcons had eight shots on goal and five corner kicks in the second half but couldn't break through.

Pfeiffer senior Kaylee Ollis made four saves in goal for the Falcons.

Evans led all players with six shots, three on target, while Minafo scored on her lone attempt. Averett held a 6-4 edge in shots on goal and committed four fouls to Pfeiffer's seven.
