Lapo D'Amato came away with top-10 finishes to start the 2025-26 season at the Knights Invitational at the par 72, 6,713 yard Stoney Creek Golf Course at the Wintergreen Resort in Nellysford, Va.
North, a product of King, N.C. making his collegiate debut, claimed a fourth place finish after opening first round play with a one-over par 73. He followed that with a 74 on day two to finish with a three-over 147 for the event.
D'Amato, a senior from Rimini, Italy, had his best outing of his career in The Village, tying his 36-hole best with a 151 (+7) to finish in an eighth-place tie with Bridgewater's Cai Clark and Southern Virginia's Nick Johnson. D'Amato also had a 151 (+7) at the Kinder-Williams Invitational on Sept. 11-12, 2023.
The tournament was not scored as a team event and featured 55 players.
Hampden-Sydney's Garnett Hall won medalist honors with a two-day total of 143 (-1) while SVU's Nikko Taggart finished second with a 145 (+1).
