Volleyball Drops Matches to Bridgewater and Lynchburg

Pfeiffer Volleyball Falls to Bridgewater and Lynchburg

BRIDGEWATER, Va. (Sept. 13, 2025) —
Pfeiffer University dropped a three-set match to Bridgewater (VA) on Saturday morning at Nininger Hall, falling 25-16, 25-22, 25-15.
Despite a strong second-set push, Pfeiffer (2-6) was unable to overcome Bridgewater's efficient attack and balanced offense.

The Falcons were led by Haedyn McGrath, who posted 11 kills on 27 attempts with a .259 hitting percentage. Faith Miller added five kills and Madison Tate chipped in four.

Setter Karmen Rion distributed 13 assists and contributed four digs, while Gabby Edwards anchored the back row with six digs and two service aces.

Bridgewater (6-3) controlled the net with 44 kills and a .433 team hitting percentage. Agnes Alford led the Eagles with 10 kills and three block assists, while Reagan Stoop and Faith DePew combined for 17 kills.

In the seccond match of the day, a neutral-site contest against Lynchburg, Pfeiffer dropped a 25-11, 25-20, 25-19 decision.

The Falcons struggled offensively, hitting just .045 as a team while committing 12 attack errors. McGrath once again led Pfeiffer with four kills, while Miller and Abby Lewis added two and three kills, respectively.

The Hornets (9-1) recorded nine service aces and 44 kills in the match, led by Ava Meinhardt with 10 kills and Kate Hardie with nine kills and four aces.

Junior Gabi Gama led Pfeiffer with 10 digs and two kills, while senior Faith Miller contributed three blocks. Kelsey Hussey added a service ace and a kill in limited action.

Pfeiffer will return to play on Tuesday, Sept. 16 with their home-opener, hosting Salem College in a USA South match in Merner Gym.  First serve is slated for 6:00 p.m.
