MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Doug Smith scored 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting and Pfeiffer overwhelmed Brevard 94–61 on Wednesday night in USA South play at Merner Gym.
Pfeiffer (13–8, 9–2 USA South) dominated from the opening tip, racing to a 44–25 halftime lead behind efficient shooting, relentless rebounding and a deep bench that contributed 49 points. The Falcons shot 59% from the field (38 of 64) and hit nine 3-pointers while outrebounding Brevard 45–16.
Zach Sloan added 13 points and three 3-pointers, and
Sean Sucarichi and
Jaylan Bowen each scored nine. Pfeiffer's balance was evident throughout — 12 different players scored, and the Falcons posted 22 assists on 38 made baskets. Their defense turned 11 Brevard turnovers into 17 points and limited the Tornados to 4-for-21 shooting from deep.
Brevard (9–13, 2–9) was led by Jadon Carnes, who had a game-high 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting. KK Horton added 10 points and six assists, while Dre'Shaun Brown and Twain Wilson each scored eight. But the Tornados couldn't keep pace defensively, giving up 54 points in the paint and allowing 21 fast-break points.
Pfeiffer continued to roll in the second half, stacking a 50-36 scoring margin to complete the blowout.
