Pfeiffer Splits Saturday in Atlanta, Rallies Past Lewis & Clark Before Falling to Emory
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 14, 2026) — The PfeifferUniversity softball team opened Saturday's nonconference doubleheader with a late surge to defeat Lewis & Clark 5–3 before dropping the afternoon matchup 9–5 to No. 22 Emory.

Trailing 3–1 entering the seventh, Pfeiffer erupted for four runs on four hits to complete the comeback.
Natalie Auman jump-started the rally with a run-scoring triple, followed by
Kirstyn Herman's two-RBI single and a sacrifice fly from
Kylah Shifflett to put the Falcons ahead for good.
Herman drove in three runs on a 2-for-4 performance, while
Landry Stewart finished 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base. Auman added a triple and an RBI. Pitcher
Reese Caranna went the distance in the circle, tossing a 7-inning complete game, allowing five hits, three earned runs, and striking out four without a walk.
Lewis & Clark was led by Harper Campanella's two-run homer and McKenna Zehnder's two hits and two steals, but managed only five total hits.
The win improved Pfeiffer to 13–6.
Emory 9, Pfeiffer 5
In game two, Pfeiffer jumped ahead with a four-run first inning, highlighted by
Brooke Piper's three-run home run after RBI singles from the top of the order. Emory quickly countered with seven runs in its half of the first, punctuated by Ella Hoyle's three-run homer.
Piper once again powered the Falcons' offense, going 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBI and two walks, while
Kirstyn Herman,
Heather Vaughn, and
Landry Stewart added hits. Pfeiffer's only other run came in the sixth, when Shifflett drove home a run on a groundout.
Emory's offense delivered 11 hits, including two doubles from Addison Kwong and multi-hit efforts by Hoyle, Kwong, and Ashley Chu. The Eagles' defense turned three double plays to halt multiple Pfeiffer threats.
Pfeiffer used three pitchers, with starter
Mollie Bulla charged for four early runs and
Abigail Bowman allowing five more across 4.2 innings. Emory's Lauryn Selvaraj stabilized the game with 7 innings of one-run relief, scattering five hits and four walks.
