MISENHEIMER, N.C. — Pfeiffer cruised past visiting Guilford 6–1 on Friday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center, sweeping all three doubles courts and winning five of six singles flights.
The Falcons (6–1) secured the doubles point behind three decisive wins.
Aissultan Mukhambetov and
Valter Albuquerque held off Andres Mercedes and Emmanuel Oye 7–5 at No. 1, while
Aden Burgoyne and
Jayden Wellman posted a 6–4 victory on Court 2.
Javier Robles Solis and
Aristide van Bergeijk completed the sweep with a 6–3 win at No. 3.
Pfeiffer kept full control in singles, clinching the match with straight-set wins across courts 3–6. Wellman dominated at No. 3, beating George Hardie 6–1, 6–2, and
Bogdan Stan followed with a 6–1, 6–1 win over Alex Brown at No. 4.
Hugo Kezen added a 6–2, 6–2 result at No. 5, and Burgoyne closed out a 6–0, 6–1 performance at the No. 6 match.
Mukhambetov earned the tightest Pfeiffer victory of the day, outlasting Oye 6–2, 3–6, 10–7 at No. 2.
Guilford (0–6) earned its lone point at the top singles spot, where Mercedes defeated Albuquerque 6–1, 6–0.
Pfeiffer will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. for their next four matches, taking part in the Spring Tennis Fest. Pfeiffer will take on Western New England on Monday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. in their first match in the annual event.
