Bynum Leads Pfeiffer Women at Johnson & Wales

Alexis Bynum had a team-high 19 points in a 68-60 women's basketball loss at Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday evening.
Bynum, from Charlotte, N.C., went 8-of-18 from the field, hit one three pointer and had six assists as the only player in double-figures for the Falcons. Teammates
Tanaesha Ellison (Asheboro, N.C.) and
Kayla Soublet (Hickory, N.C.) each had nine points with Ellison also hitting a three-pointer and grabbing six rebounds and swiping three steals. Soublet had a pair of steals and an assist to go along with her nine points.
After leading 15-11 after the first quarter, Pfeiffer was outscored by the homestanding Wildcats 29-19 in the second quarter, with JWU taking the 40-28 lead into halftime.
Collectively, Pfeiffer was 25-of-67 from the field (37.3%) while JWU shot 23-of-62 (37.1%).
The Falcons (1-4) will turn their focus towards a USA South road game at Mary Baldwin. Tipoff in Staunton, Va. is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
