Greensboro, N.C. (Sept. 1, 2023) -- The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team held Guilford scoreless and ran away with a 4-0 shutout win on the road on Friday night at the Armfield Athletic Center.
With the win, Pfeiffer improved to 1-0. The win marks the second straight road win at Guilford, as Pfeiffer defeated the Quakers 4-3 in the 2021 season opener.
How it Happened
Pfeiffer took a 1-0 lead when Diego Moran notched his first goal of the season in the 15th minute, assisted by Andrejes Valdes.
The Falcons grabbed a 2-0 advantage on a goal from Asuncio Gonzalez -- his first goal of the season -- in the 19th minute, assisted by Mateo Lata.
Pfeiffer then made it a 3-0 lead on Josh Aguirre-Escobar's 52nd-minute goal, his first of the season.
The Falcons capped the scoring, giving them a 4-0 lead with a 69th-minute goal from Jahari Dozier, his first goal of the season. Valdes assisted the goal.
