Winston-Salem, N.C. (Feb. 23, 2024) - The Pfeiffer University women's indoor track and field team took home a second place finish at the inaugural USA South Indoor Track and Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Friday.

Madison Lowery won USA South Runner of the Meet after anchoring the distance medley relay team to a win, came back back to earn the USA South title in the 5000m, mile run and the 3000m races. She also, helped the 4x400 relay team to a second-place finish.Â

Elizabeth Jones captured the weight throw title for the third year in a row at JDL, breaking her
 own school record with a throw of 14.90m.

Micah Welborn, and Lowery started the meet by setting a new Pfeiffer school record in distance medley relay with a time of
12:45.48

Aspen King claimed second in the long jump with a new Pfeiffer record with a mark of 4.84m and was third in the  triple jump with a mark of 9.45m.

Katelyn Lentz had an outstanding meet; she was on the winning DMR team, then finished second in the 400m, and finally helped the 4x400m relay team to a second-place finish.

Alex Stancell had an outstanding meet, finishing fourth in the weight throw and sixth in the shot put.
