SWANNONOA, N.C. (Sept. 3, 2024) -- The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team won their season-opener on the road by a 4-1 score over Warren Wilson Tuesday at Hank Steinbrecher Field.
Pfeiffer improved to 1-0 on the season after the victory.
How it Happened
Pfeiffer took a 1-0 lead when Victoria Tita scored her first goal of the season in the fourth minute.
The Owls levelled the match on a goal from Mia Wiest in the 26th minute, assisted by Eden Gfeller.
Pfeiffer then grabbed a 2-1 lead on Yailine Riera's 47th-minute goal, her first of the season.
The Falcons took a 3-1 lead with a 70th-minute goal from Khamani Spencer, her first goal of the season. Sabrina McNeill assisted the goal.
Pfeiffer extended its advantage to 4-1 on Karlie Pressley's first collegiate goal in the 76th minute.

- Kaylee Ollis collected four saves for the Falcons out of seven total shots.
- Pfeiffer peppered 18 shots on goal.
