Pfeiffer Men's Soccer Continues to Roll Withn 2-1 Road Win at Mary Baldwin
STAUNTON, Va. (Oct. 18, 2025) — Pfeiffer University extended its unbeaten streak to 14 matches with a 2-1 road victory over Mary Baldwin University on Saturday afternoon at SMA Worth Field.
The Falcons (11-0-3, 3-0-2 USA South), playing in their final regular season road match, struck early by scoring twice in the opening 11 minutes to seize control. Sophomoer forward
Wesley Hooker opened the scoring just 49 seconds into the match, notching his eighth goal of the season.
Benji Landaverde followed with the eventual game-winner in the 11th minute, assisted by freshman
Barrett Owens, marking Landaverde's fifth goal of the year.
Mary Baldwin (2-11-1, 0-5-0 USA South) responded in the 33rd minute when Shawn Garner converted a pass from Edward Headley, but the Fighting Squirrels were unable to find an equalizer despite seven total shots.
Pfeiffer outshot Mary Baldwin 12-7 and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper
Seth Limbert made a pair of saves to preserve the win, while Mary Baldwin's Tucker Speak recorded three saves in the loss.
Pfeiffer will return to The Village for their next USA South match, hosting the annual Senior Day match on Saturday, Oct. 25 against Southern Virginia. Kickoff is slated for Noon.
