MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Feb. 18, 2025) --Hannah Isley scored a career-high 30 points in Pfeiffer's 74-61 loss to Brevard on Tuesday night at Merner Gym
The Falcons (11-11, 8-7) had two players score in double figures, led by Isley, who had 30 points. Freshman Ava Hairston added 18 points from the bench while senior Alexis Bynum added four points and six assists.
Led by Lola Cabaniss-Ali's four offensive rebounds, Pfeiffer did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 14 boards that resulted in six second chance points.
The Pfeiffer defense caused its share of mistakes in Tuesday's game, forcing 16 Brevard turnovers. Those takeaways turned into nine points on the other end of the floor. Shania Haynes led the way individually for the Falcons with one steal.
How It Happened
Pfeiffer struggled out of the gate, falling behind 24-14 at the end of the first quarter.
Pfeiffer then started off the second quarter by going on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a three from Isley, to narrow its deficit to 24-21. Brevard responded and expanded its lead, leaving the Falcons trailing 33-24 heading into halftime.
Pfeiffer's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Falcons faced a 60-43 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Pfeiffer's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled 17 of the team's 19 third-quarter points.
Brevard kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 63-43 advantage before Pfeiffer went on an 8-0 run, finished off by Isley's layup, to shrink the deficit to 63-51 with 5:30 to go in the contest. Brevard responded and outscored the Falcons the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 74-61. Pfeiffer took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring 10 of its 18 points in the paint.
