MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Feb. 8, 2025) --Senior Kenadie Hudler knocked down a career-high seven 3-pointers, totaling 21 points in Pfeiffer's 74-44 USA South rout of William Peace in Merner Gym on Satrurday at Alumni Day.
The Falcons (9-10, 7-6 USA South) had three players score in double figures, led by Hudler, who had 21 points. Hudler set her career high for the second straight game. Hudler's previous career-best came in a 17-point performance at rival Greensboro College on Feb. 4. Freshman Ava Hairston tacked on 11 points off the bench while senior Alexis Bynum contributed 10 points and six rebounds. Bynum continues her trek toward's 1,000 career points, as she currently sits with 935.
Pfeiffer dished out 18 assists while turning the ball over just eight times on the afternoon. Individually, sophomore Peyton McPeters led the Falcons with three assists.
Defensively, Pfeiffer managed eight blocks on the afternoon as Hannah Isley had three rejections to led the way.
How It Happened
After falling behind 15-10, Pfeiffer went on a 7-0 run with 1:48 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Lola Cabaniss-Ali, to take a 17-15 lead, a score that would hold for the rest of the period. Pfeiffer got a great contribution from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for seven of its 17 total points.
Pfeiffer built that first quarter lead to 20-17 before going on a 7-0 run starting at the 6:48 mark in the second period to increase its lead to 27-17. The Falcons proceeded to tack on one point to that lead and enjoyed a 31-20 advantage heading into halftime. Pfeiffer dominated in the paint, scoring eight of its 14 points close to the basket.
Pfeiffer continued to preserve its halftime lead before going on an 8-0 run to expand its lead further to 39-24 with 5:21 to go in the third. Before the third period was over, the Falcons added 11 points to that lead and entered the fourth quarter with a 54-28 edge. Pfeiffer took advantage of six William Peace turnovers in the quarter, scoring six points off of takeaways.
Pfeiffer kept widening that lead, expanding it to 59-32 before going on a 6-0 run, finished off by Amanda Finch's three, to grow the lead to 65-32 with 6:28 to go in the contest. The Pacers narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Falcons still cruised the rest of the way for the 74-44 win. Pfeiffer fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down four shots to account for 12 of its 20 points.
