Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Claims Senior Day Win Over Ferrum

Misenheimer, N.C. (April 19, 2025)– The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team closed the 2025 regular season with a 7-0 nonconference home win over visiting Ferrum College on a warm Saturday morning at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer easily claimed the doubles point to open the match, winning both of the contested doubles marches.  Senior's Alison Sloop and Megan Rekieta won their No. 1 match, 6-3 while Haley Ingenito and Kristen Colie took their No. 2 match, winning 6-0.

It was much the same in singles play, as Pfeiffer won the four contested matches, all in straight sets.  Rekieta had no trouble at No. 1 ,winning 6-2, 6-0 while Colie took the No. 2 match 6-0, 6-2.

Sloop won 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 match while Emily Moore closed the day with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4

The Next Match
With the regular season complete, Pfeiffer will turn their focus to the USA South Tournament.  The Falcons have earned the #2 seed for the upcoming tournament and will take on the winner of the match between the sixth-seeded Salem Spirits and the third-seeded SVU Knights in the semifinals.

The semifinals of the USA South Tournament will be hosted by N.C. Wesleyan University on April 25-26.
