MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Feb. 14, 2026) — Cole Palmer scored three goals, including the eventual game-winner early in the fourth quarter, as Hampden-Sydney held off a late Pfeiffer rally for a 9–8 nonconference win Saturday at a sunner Lefko-Mills Field.
Hampden-Sydney (1-1) controlled the run of play through the first three quarters, building an 8-5 lead behind a balanced offensive effort. Freshman Brown Parker added two goals—both in the third quarter—to push the Tigers ahead by as many as six. Broder Conley and Kevin Myers each finished with a goal and an assist, while Nick Winchell, Max Schneider and Kavin Wood also scored.
Goalkeeper Will Palmer anchored the defense with 12 saves, including five in the opening period.
Pfeiffer (2-1) mounted a furious comeback in the fourth, fueled by
Trent Orr, who scored four of his game-high five goals in the second half. Orr scored three straight in the final 13 minutes, cutting the deficit to 9–8 with 15 seconds remaining.
Tiger Hopkins added a goal and two assists for the Falcons, while
Davis Palombo scored twice—both on man-up opportunities in the third quarter.

Korbin Hamilton kept the Falcons within striking distance, recording 17 saves on 38 shots faced.
Hampden-Sydney won 11 of 18 faceoffs and outshot Pfeiffer 38–32, overcoming 21 turnovers. Pfeiffer stayed in the game behind its man-up unit (2 for 4) and 29 ground balls.
Pfeiffer will look to bounce back as they host Oglethorpe for a 1:00 p.m. game on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Lefko-Mills Field.
