Pfeiffer Routs Johnson & Wales 13-3
MISENHEIMER, N.C. (March 10, 2026) — Pfeiffer exploded for seven runs in the seventh inning and finished with 15 hits to defeat Johnson & Wales 13-3 on a warm Tuesday afternoon at Joe Ferebee Field.
Pfeiffer (5-9) took control early with three runs in the first.
Ben Mecimore led off with a double,
Ethan Willard followed with a bunt single, and the Falcons capitalized on a throwing error and a balk to bring in two more runs before
Mason Mosteller added an RBI single.
Johnson & Wales (1-12) answered with a 2-RBI single from Carlitos Ramirez in the top of the first, but Pfeiffer's pitching kept the Wildcats quiet for most of the afternoon. The Falcons used four arms—Mosteller, Connor Griffin,
Sam Safrit and
Cameron Cooper—to hold JWU to three hits and two earned runs across seven innings. Griffin delivered two scoreless frames in relief, striking out two without allowing a hit.
After adding single runs in the fourth and sixth, Pfeiffer put the game out of reach in the seventh.
Larson Stem drove in a run with a single, Mecimore and
Josh Jones added RBI hits, and
Joe Javier walked in a run.
Bryson Long pushed home another with a sacrifice fly, and
Austin Wood and
Badin Gusa added RBI contributions as the Falcons sent 11 men to the plate.
Mecimore finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI, while Wood went 3-for-4 and Willard scored three times with two hits and a stolen base. Bellantoni added two hits, two runs and an RBI. Javier chipped in a double and two RBI.
Ramirez drove in all three JWU runs. Starter Hunter Conn-Beck went six innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits before the Wildcats' bullpen surrendered seven more in the seventh. JWU committed four errors in the loss.
